You’ve been stabilized after a cardiac event or surgery, and now your physician has recommended further treatment at a cardiac rehabilitation center. What does this mean? What will happen when you arrive?
At Longwood Cardiac Recovery & Rehabilitation Center in Longwood, Florida, Sergio Sepúlveda Sunez, DPT, is committed to your heart recovery and health regimen. As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, his clinical role is focused on rehabilitation.
Our advanced cardiac rehab program is designed to support your recovery progress safely, helping you build confidence and improve function. How can you expect your first visit to go? Here’s how our program starts.
We do not perform cardiac procedures at Longwood Cardiac Recovery & Rehabilitation Center. Rather, our goal is to provide noninvasive cardiac rehabilitation and physical therapy at our facility, helping patients recover and improve their quality of life after a cardiac event or surgical procedure or while living with a chronic cardiac condition.
We evaluate medically stable patients for participation following physician referral and appropriate medical clearance. Qualifying conditions may include:
Our practice uses state-of-the-art cardiac monitoring equipment and has a fully equipped exercise facility. Our programs are designed to help you regain strength, mobility, and endurance and improve your quality of life.
When you arrive at our center, we perform an initial rehabilitation assessment, including review of your medical history, medications, symptoms, vital signs, and functional abilities. We show you our facility, explain our approach to cardiac rehabilitation and recovery, and answer any questions you have.
Then we create your personalized program to maximize your cardiac recovery based on your specific health requirements and medical condition.
Pritikin intensive cardiac rehabilitation is a structured, evidence-based program with researched benefits.
